Your opinions on ARS Champs

Just curious to know what people here are currently thinking about the ARS champs system.

Do you plan to promote any of the new sites?
Are you holding back to see what pans out with it?
Do you have any opinions about the whole idea?

I'm promoting it & I've gotten 1 sale so far with very limited traffic - way too early to make any decisions on it.

I did some early testing with it with PPC traffic from Google and it didn't convert well at all - price point seemed to be the problem. I'm sure that without a trial price it's going to be a tough sale for the more "generic" sites, but the niches should do ok - just starting with the LL traffic now so will be in the same boat as GG for a bit

One of the reasons I'm asking is that there's a lot less people posting on the boards at ARS, and a lot of frustration and cynicism going on there. I was curious to see if people had given up on them or if they were taking a wait and see approach.

One of the big issues that people are complaining about is the price point. Will be interesting to see if they stick to their guns on the full price.

I've seen the postings and the one theme I see from ARS is that not only will they stick to their guns on this issue, I believe that they will eventually change the 4real sites to the full price model as well - trials are what hurt in the first place, and it doesn't work out from a bean-counting model - I believe it's just the first step we will see across the board with most sponsors in the very near future - at least those that want to stay around for a bit. The trial model has led to a group of problems and temporary solutions that don't make long-term biz sense.

Im an ARS CHAMPS webmaster myself and I'd like to put my cheap two cents in

First of all, if you check out the ARS web board, a lot of champs webmasters are complaining about the no trial option. I think a $10 trial would be great, but linkster is right - they really seem to be sticking to their guns.

I think there are parts of this program that are really brilliant, but its still in it's infancy and everyone needs to give it time.

One problem is that things always take longer to set up than you plan, and this becomes a big problem when you have all these webmasters waiting to jump on the bandwagon. This has been the case with late launch dates, lack of information being posted on building the tours, and adding content slowly.

For instance, they have 6 DVDs for the gay section and every scene has been "purchased" (meaning a max of 5 webmasters can use them on their site). Every gay scene has been taken and the only one free in the category is straight porn for women... meaning heterosexual sex with more shots of the man. kinda strange

I think this program will do better with niches, but we'll see. There are some great tours out there like "Big Dicks, Lil Chicks" and "24/7 Pimp". However, not to be rude, but some of the other tours ain't great, and I think its too bad there arent any design standards... Not trying to be a bitch, but some of them just arent erotic and I think give a bad face to other webmasters looking to promote the sites.

I think their reality sites looks amazing.

My conversion is around 1:1000 with very targeted traffic -- factor in a 25$ payout...I'm not really impressed with the money they earn.
