Morning!
![]() Like J ![]() ![]() The Bitch worked the parking lot for the Bills final preseason game, so I went up there to keep her company last night. Other than a little teeny tiny bit of work this morning & a quick trip to see my primary, it's all Fantasy Football prep work for me today, as I have 4 drafts in 30 hours starting at 2PM tomorrow ![]() Enjoy! ![]() |

The last 24 hours have been nothing but sickening to me. I have wanted to apply for my Finnish citizenship, but have to pass a language test. My Finnish isn't good enough yet. I found a great instructor and had registered for his classes.. but the Husband is resisting. So, I canceled the registration. It means no citizenship for me this year (or 2020 either. I kind of wanted that). Now, my mind has to adjust to another major change in this last month (cataract surgery plus now the loss of a life-long dream).
So then I am working on confirming everything for our trip in October. Years ago, I fell down a flight of stairs on my back and have 5 ruptured discs plus arthritis now. I don't do long distance walking well. I contacted the airline I am booked with to find out about mobility assistance, and got told that the flight i am on is operated by a different airline and that I would have to contact them. So I did. They said that I have to go through the airline I booked with. They are both pointing the fingers at each other for responsibility and I get left out of it. I can take my time at Helsinki and Los Angeles, but Chicago... we have 90 minutes to get from the domestic terminal to the international one, with no mobility assistance. I don't even want to go on this trip. Just shoot me now...

When you get on the flight to Chicago, ask them to call ahead & arrange for a wheelchair.

See, you would think it would be that easy, but it isn't. The websites for the airports all say they do just that, and I can even request it when I make the reservations (just like chosing a meal or seat) but in reality, you can't. The airport points you to the airline who takes care of that. In this case, Finnair is operating the fight for British Airways. The lady at BA said I had to talk to Finnair about it because technically, it is their flight. Finnair said it isn't their flight - it is British Airways' responsibility. Here's where it gets crazy. I could have booked that same exact flight from Finnair at 3 times the price. But instead, I booked through BA. So much for economy. We can't even be sure we are going to be able to sit together -- I can't choose my seats for the very same reason. It sucks, and it is more than stupid.
