Want info on making free sites

i have been doing tgps for a few months and everyone is always saying free sites are even better....so I would like to hear soem feedback on free sites vs. tgps and of course any other ways of creating traffic sources for my site.

is this an example? http://mariahxxx.net/preview/preview.htm but I know it would need to link to a couple of galleries

A standard free site is about 4 pages linked together

a lead in index/warning page
a main page with navigation to galleries
then two(10pic) galleries

The best place to look for examples is the "new" lists at the major LinkLists
