RSS Stats or RSS data?

I asked some one else about this, but looking for more input. Does any one know of stats showing how many surfers use RSS feeds? Seems it would be kind of hard to track, least web wide. I also wonder if you could track how many readers you have? I know feedburner shows the number of readers, but i wonder what they base it on? And does that take in account all the subscribe options they have, like those besides just feedburner? You could count clicks on the chicklets, I would assume that would be pretty close.

Does'nt any one see traffic or hits, say from My Yahoo or Google personal type pages? Or do stats programs lump those in under Google and Yahoo traffic. Guess I could ceck the long page of referers and see if it shows up.

Any thoughts?

I think feedburner just records any requests made to the rss feed and then adds a couple rules like "the amount of request of the last 5 minutes is the amount of visitors reading the rss feed". This is explained in quite simple words, it is likely a bit more advanced

Well, just curious if some one had seen any data on the subject, or no one is saying. Thanks for the reply.
