Webmaster Referral problem

About 3 monyths ago I got a webmaster friend to sign up using my referral code to a specific sponsor.

That sponsor has a referral program which gives you 5% of the sales the other person makes. A short while after the sign up my friend made 3 sales and the 5% didnt show up on my stats so I notified the support guys. I had a hard time doing that because they never replied my emails and they barely talked to me on ICQ until they finally replied to me saying they were gonna fix the error and added that 5% manually on my account payout. However my friend kept doing sales and I still didnt see any money so I tried to contact them again and to my surprise they started really ignoring me. I tried to call their attention via e-mail, ICQ several times but to no avail.

Then I just gave up, I took off all their webmaster ref. banners from my sites to make sure they wont get another sign up from me and forgot about it.

But now it just happens that what happened to me also happened to this friend of mine when he got someone else to sign up with his ref code! Now I think their webmaster referral thing is actually a fraud or maybe it works "sometimes", i dont know. Does anything like this happened to you? I dont really know what I should do, and I dont want to give away the sponsor name because I still think there could be an explanation for all this but probably im just being naive.

Annie - what I would do is first, find the ICQ contact info of someone from the program and send them this link to let them know that although their name was not mentioned, it's them you are referring to.

If it's happening to you - and to your friend - something's funky. Either it's a cookie issue, programming issue or there is no referral program.

If you know the backend software being used (if it's not a custom code), you should perhaps contact the company that made it to ask if there's possibly a way that it's a programming issue.

Personally, when sponsors don't reply to email - I find their people online via ICQ - if I can't find their ICQ, I find people that know them personally to get the message across.

Sometimes it 'could' be an email issue - but obviously, if they aren't getting the emails, they aren't getting the complaints about the issues either
