Link List HTML files

I know this has been bought up before, but I dont think its ever been carved in stone, but what is the consensus of HTML files being in the same directory. I prefer that a site be submitted and the site be in the same directory. I dont mind thumbnails and gallery images being pulled from an image folder as long as its on the same domain.

But I am getting so many submits with this format:

http://www.domain1.com/freesite/keyword/ linked to
http://www.domain1.com/freesite/main.html

Am I wrong to not be liking that? LOL I mean its obviously from an auto submitter and the ones that are blatant I reject right away. Im open for suggestions, discussion, rants raves, etc.
