Unhappy Let's Start Off Thursday With My Sob Story...

Morning

I went to my back/neck doctor yesterday for my final follow-up after my last surgery. I still have cold/numb hands/fingers as well as a very painful/stiff lower back. He basically told me that odds are that I'll be like this for the rest of my life. Joy

So, how's your day going?

Our medical system fucking sucks.
I get to spend the rest of my life ingesting rat poison at 5 PM and getting my fingers pricked a few times a month as my insurance company get billed a bunch of money for each finger prick. That on top of a leg that always aches, is annoyingly numb and wearing shoes feels like my toes are being burnt so that closet of beautiful high heels is collecting dust. Plus the hospital wants another 30K in deductibles for doing this to me that I'm refusing to pay so I guess my perfect credit score isn't so perfect anymore.

The only thing that has ever actually improved my health is working out at the gym three or more times a week.

Just day at home spent working hoping for better sales are my plans so far.

Good morning world

@Greenie - fuck the odds, in my personal experience the doctors have been wrong so many times that the last thing I'd do is believe them when they try to forecast that "rest of your life" nonsense. Your body is more capable of healing itself than we understand yet, so I'm still thinking that you're nowhere near done recovering and that things will get better over time. Particularly once you've had more time to recover from them cutting on you and doing their primitive little rituals.

@Cleo - yeah, and the medical system sucks too.

The rains finally got here last night and it was a deluge for a few hours. Now the streets look like canals and it's going to be a dark and cloudy day with rain on and off. Might even be like this until next week. But all my running around was done on Monday and I can just stay inside and work. Which is good since it's going to take some work to get any kind of decent sales numbers.

Wishing a good day to all.

Morning. I have a small headache. Hopefully a large pot of coffee will help. Other than that I'll just be here coding away and working on things. The fun just doesn't stop. Last night did week two of no tv wednesday. It's just so strange. However, it is kinda relaxing in a way. Just catching up on reading some things and just general chit chat. Plus we actually sat down at the dinner table. Weiiiiirrrrrd.

Tonight though it's back to watching episodes of The Killing.

Second this.

Alright, time to pound coffee and stare at my computer.

Donna Summers just died this morning. :-( She hasn't even hit 70 yet. It was reported she had cancer. May the Disco Diva rest in peace.

Pulled my old bike off the hooks in the garage last night and gave it a quick onceover. Going to try to get in a little better shape. Three people that saw pictures said, Ooh Vintage. Not having really looked at bikes in the last 20 or so years, I didn't realize how much progress had been made.

Looking for parts has been interesting - what was revolutionary when I first got the bike, is considered rare today.

Other than that, shoveling some bits around. Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

@Greenie, that isn't the news someone is hoping to hear. I second (third) what Simon said. I've heard dozens of stories of people who got bad news from their doctor and then after some looking around and going to other doctors (alternative or regular ones) they completely recovered.

Today I went to the beach with the gf and kid right across the border with The Netherlands. The little one who started walking a few weeks ago had the time of his life running around and fallin face first in the sand. The stranded jellyfish made it even more adventurous.

Anyway, have a good day all!

Good morning all.

I also think that doctors are just saying what are they had learned and with every other doctor there will be new story, so Greenie keep your faith and maybe you'll find a better doctor.

In my small world it's just to little time and so much work to do.

Good afternoon from Victoria, Briitish Columbia. I am here visiting a friend for a few days.

@Greenie: I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps a second opinion is in order. Keep your chin up!

Take care.

If doctors knew what they were talking about, they wouldn't have a Doctor's Practice, they would have a Doctor's Real Thing.

Frustrating day today. ugh.

pretty much the same...

Was there "passing knowledge" to the guys that won the client...
then got home and made a gallery...

The good part is that the client sucks...
The bad part is ... fuck it... better days will come for sure...

Also Greenie Stay strong man and beat the odds...
U can't do anything preventive... like massages... acupuncture... ?!?

@ Greenie. I'm a big believer if doctors can't give you a better prognosis, then research online ways to give yourself one that is better. I've dropped my cholesterol, stopped the majority of my arthritis pain, and cut my allergies to near zero just by eliminating foods that I was intolerant to. You might find that if you try the same, you will get better results too.

I also agree you have not had nearly enough time to recover and have all the inflammation in that area go down.
