Black Friday (2012.11.23) ...

Good morning.

As it now starting to invade Canada, my daughter asked me about the origin of Black Friday. According to Wiki, "the day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Use of the term started before 1961 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation began to be offered: that "Black Friday" indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or are "in the black". There you go.

It's bill paying Friday for me along with the usual work. Since I've been sick all week (but feeling much better today), I think I'll bug off and continue with my own stuff for one more day.

Other than going to the bird store to pickup food for our macaws, grocery store to pickup people food and Home Depot to pickup a 16 foot 2x4 staying away from the stores today.

Going to do some web work but not that much since Christy is off for the next few days and I see watching movies at home in our future.

May do some yard work later today or maybe not.

Just another grey fall day here. No shopping for me either today. I did purchase €20 worth of lottery credits online but I guess that doesn't count as shopping.

No shopping here but the inlaws are still in town so in a few hours I will be entertaing them the rest of the day so I better get back to some work.

Good morning. Just working on a project this morning. Trying to handle as much as I can before the lady wakes.

Had a great dinner last night. Uncle was given a bottle of Walker blue label. So had a couple glasses of that. Nice way to cap the night.

Going to be here at my folks place until later this afternoon. Then going back to San Diego.
