Question windows media

why the fuck does a wmv file start off "bright" and after a second the brightness disappears and the video appears dark? Am i insane or has anyone else noticed this?

thanks for any feedback ...

Mike is it the movie itself? I cant see Media Player causing this type of issue? If your sure it's not the movie have you updated your Media Player recently?

I've never heard of that happening. Did you get all of your WMVs in the same place? Maybe you should try searching for WMV files and try playing one of those instead. Good luck.

wme shouldn't create those side effects when you edit the files.

I usually have weird side effects when i edit a Divx5 clip, which i've cut into several segments then try to convert into a wmv file.

What codec are you using? are the file originally .avi?

I haven't noticed what you've said, but I noticed that after it fades in, it's pixelated for a second and then clears up. It does that after every fade in/out on my computer.

starting with raw avi, exporting using huffyyuv, encoding using 7 or 8 series codecs. it is not drastic, but quite noticeable. It is not in the source.

Could it be due to the fact that the file is embedded in a web page?

I can't believe im the only person to experience this. maybe some troubleshooting i will do on my own - rule out everything i can.

I thought you were playing them, not encoding them. Perhaps it's your encoding software. Maybe you should try another one and see if it still occurs.
