Hmmm I have another question.

Why is it you can struggle with a problem for ages yet not 15 seconds after you click the send button to a help forum you find an answer

|pcwins|

the answer is replace localhost with http://127.0.0.1 and your in business

Or replace IE with Mozilla and then it understands localhost.

Thanks Cleo.

I certainly remember less trying times back when I owned a Commodore Amiga .

If Apple had a larger following Down here I'd certainly consider moving over to the smart side

I'm thinking it could be an IE6 issue.
What made me change was i rember configuring AV software with localhost on a Windows98 machine and when i tried the same settings in Windows XP it refused to work till I changed it to 127.0.0.1.

I feel I'll be needing a hair transplant shortly, I'd better make that hair implant cause i'd look funny with short curly hair on my head

I think it is just an IE issue since it does the same thing on my Mac.

To get to my CUPS interface I type localhost plus the port so it looks like this localhost:631. Works just fine in everything except IE. Something about IE that doesn't understand localhost so you have to type the IP of localhost. Of course this is the same for getting to Apache expect for the fact that there is no need to add the port number as it defaults to port 80.
