Free Sites Question
As I've been submitting my free sites, some of the people that I submit to don't even reply to me with "accepted" or "declined". I'm trying to make these sites, a lot of them, and I was wondering do most webmasters take the time to go through their links and see if they're receiving any hits from their submitted sited? Or are you building so much that once it's up, it's up for good and you move-on to the next building project.
Thanks

Rock2Much,
Submitting is NOT a passive process.!! Despite what TGP'ers might think and tell you... If you spend the time to build a site.. don't YOU want to know if it is working? It is YOUR job to see who listed you, It is YOUR job to see what traffic you get Most of us do not send "decline" emails anymore, as they just attracts angst and BS from webmasters that think they should be listed. Many of us give you the opportunity to come here and ask why you werent listed, and you will get free and experienced advice as to what you need to do to get your site listed. So ... yes... take the time to go thru the links and see if you did get listed.. Even better, check your own stats to see.. Quote:

Every few months I look through my server stats to see who is sending me traffic. The places that I don't see traffic from I stop submitting to.
It is important to understand that free site building is accumulated traffic in that the more you build and submit the more traffic you will get from each place since the listings are long lasting unlike TGP traffic in which a listing is usually very short lasting so if you have built and submitted ten sites you will receive ten times the traffic compared to if you had only built and submitted one site. Wow that was along fucking sentence. ![]() |

How long should I wait before I start ax-ing recips off of my site? Some people just take a long time to check their links. How's 2 weeks? A month?
Thanks for the replies

I usually add a few and remove a afw at least once a month.
I would wait atleast a month before you start axing sites. |

I would make and submit one page for each of several main categories, since some attract more traffic than others, and acceptance by link lists can vary by category.
Submit everywhere you can, and wait a month or two, then check your stats...by then, you'll have a really good idea where most of your traffic is coming from... At that point, you can start weeding out the sites that don't send any traffic. After you know where to submit to to get the best return, then concentrate on making a lot of sites and submitting...but remember to check your traffic stats every couple of months... Just my 2 cents worth |cool| |
