Please could I have some comments on this TGP.

It's sort of evolved over the last few months, and I probably ought to do something sensible with it. It's got a copy of the latest UCJ on it, but it doesn't really trade - it's more of a filter for my 404 and other traffic. I don't update it very often either. My plan is to have 4 or 5 rotating main pages rather than take public submissions. Click productivity seems to vary between 0.40 and 9.50.

IMO, the overall feel of the thumbs is just sub-par in quality. Try more traditional and larger thumbs, and increasing the quality. What image optimizer are you using?

For me your site looks like a trap. Black and dark and not so clear...

I think you should change the design to pleasant colours (not black of course)....

And about the thumbs - make them look clear and pleasant, cause they look ugly.

BTW check out OUR TGP WORKS. I'm sure you'll like them and want one for yourself.

Thanks for the comments - constructive criticism doesn't make me angry. I'd much rather have that, than a load of sycophants saying it's wonderful just to get a sig impression.

Thumb quality is probably a result of me being miserly and over compressing - I've probably got the lowest b/w bill on this board.

I think the black came during a fetish site building phase, and it followed a green background which wasn't working. I really prefer yellow, but I might try a background image instead. And I also know I should add more text even though it's called good thumbs.

OK I took the black off and used a background picture.

This shows how today is going. I chose an eagle 'cos I thought the surfers could empathise with that, but my g/f looked at it and said "mmmmmm seagulls"

is this your first tgp? if yes - doesn't look bad for your first one

here are some tips:
1. try to optimize the thumbs - especially those leading to the freehosted ones; they're beeing clicked more often
2. something like a name/logo would be great for it - that will bring you bookmarkers
3. did you already concider purchasing a trading script?

Thanks Rocco - it's actually the second. I had a go at the teens market and didn't do too well. It's already got UCJ 4.5 installed, but I'm not sure I can handle the cheater detection at the moment, so I'm not trading. I'm in the middle of two server migrations and I'm trying to develop an alternative to tgp galleries (got to learn to fly so that you know where to learn to walk ).

I'm still mulling over the bookmarker thing. If I don't update regularly, then I'm not sure that I'll get many b/ms anyway.

JMB offers a great rotator script for sites that don't take public submits. I've got it, and it rocks. Well worth the price, which is under $100.

Ok! White background is better as for me.

But you should still do smth with the thumbs - make them bigger - at least of one size. Polish them a bit.

And one more thing - really don't insert text in the middle of thumbs field.

There are some examples of TGPs there.
And people state that such TGPs convert.

So just learn!

The text was a bit of an experimental thing. I'm tempted to try a bit of poetry next. I need to buy some traffic I think to see if it works.

Thanks for the links but I was trying to find an alternative to the expected tgp type layout. (probably because I'm not too good at design for the background).

I guess I'm trying to prepare myself for the next stage of TGPs, which I think will be micro-payments on the galleries instead of shaving paysite links.

I take what you say about the thumbs. It's not worth changing those as they've been there for quite a while, but I'll do as you suggest with any that I add.
