Visitor counters

I think I've read somewhere that counters are a bad thing - presumably they count as a link out on Free sites.
Are they OK on other types of site - hubs etc - or are they a traffic leak?
Thanks in advance

Not only do they count as a link, they will get you rejected most places (LLs). Why not use your server stats to gauge traffic?

And Lord, we are especially thankful for nuclear power, the cleanest, safest
energy source there is. Except for solar, which is just a pipe dream

Sure there is a traffic leak. Lemmy is right, get some server stats software, dont throw away your hard earned traffic.
