possible 2257 solution offer your thoughts
Everyone is worried and wondering how to deal with the changes in the 2257 and I have a thought that might be a possible solution. What I would like is to see if others think it would be a good Idea and if I should put the idea into reality. I have come up with one way to track jpgs and to record the 2257 information for every jpg on a site using a data base. I am not going to exactly explain how to do it but this is basicly how it would work. All images can be uploaded to a temporary folder on a server then a php script is run to parse all the images and record information about the images, next the script will allow the user to input the 2257 information about the images as scanned images ( scan the documents as images) the scanned documents will be stored on a site and the information saved in a database. Once the information and images are recorded the images can then be uploaded anywhere. When or if anyone wants information about an image they would only need to run the php program input the url and the script would check the image against the database and it would output the correct 2257 documents about that image. Once the information is recorded the images can be renamed or moved to anywhere on the internet and the php script will be able to access the 2257 information. As long as the images are not edited this will work. I am looking at mpgs, avi, gifs and wmvs to see if I can make it work for them also. If this program works as well as I think it will the DOJ would not even need to come to the place of busisness to verify 2257 compliance they could simplybe given access to the script and verify and obtain information from any computer that is connected to the internet. Pay sites could work out a system with people who promote their program so that if they need access to the 2257 they can be given access to the database for a set period of time with a simple phone call to the sponsor.
So what do you think is this idea worth following up on
