Look at the tech bulletin I found regarding my truck
7.3 Oil Pan Corrosion:
Some engines may exhibit oil pan corrosion if operatted in high salt enviroments. If corrosion is found, the pan should be cleaned of oil and dirt, sanded and cleaned. Apply Motorcraft PM-13-A High Temp Anti-corrosion Coating to the pan. TSB #02-20-5 |

I turned wrenches for 10 years, and I don't know why Ford truck oil pans always rot out. GM and Chrysler oil pans don't, and from the price you posted I see that you have a van
![]() Ford trucks have had this same issue since the mid '80s. Perhaps one day they'll use better paint on their oil pans ![]() |
