Game 7!!

(I looked in the official sports thread, but it was about football heh heh)

It is a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final Tonight! As a thoroughly addicted hockey fan I can tell you that a game 7 is a very big deal in the NHL and I have actually managed to move things around in my schedule to make sure I will be sitting in front of my TV tonight to watch it.

here is a bit of trivia

they started the 7 game format in 1939
since then it has gone to a game 7 only 13 times
11 of those 13 times the team that had home ice won it

In this one the Edmonton Oilers are coming off an extremely hot streak that culminated in a 4-0 win over the Hurricanes. If you missed game six and you like hockey at all, you missed an extremely intense first two periods. It was very physical, very fast paced play.

Is anyone else going to catch the game tonight?

I've really enjoyed this series.

I was crushed when the lightning dropped out in the first round, but they really didn't step up and play on the same level as the rest of the teams out there.

GO CANES!

I would not miss this game.

Seventh and deciding game of a Stanley Cup final. It doesn't get any better than this for the true hockey fan.

I'm hoping for the Oilers!

ahh the Oilers are the tear jerker, story book favorites while the Hurricanes played top notch hockey all season long. They were the number 1 team in the NHL for practically the entire season

Sure sure, we all watched Rudy, but the Canes deserve it heh heh

Looking forward to the game, it should be a good one. If Edmonton wins...wow. An 8th seed winning the Stanley Cup, impressive.
