I hear they are pretty good..
Anyway, the move is slated for December 30..They have chartered a cargo jet and will be moving the servers physically at that time from Austin to Atlanta..Hopefully they will not be down too long..

I use National Net. I was thinking about changing to a cheaper host, but they negotiated me a new offer (that was 2x what I would pay with new host) and I stayed.

I have never seen my domains down. I know nobody can keep their servers up all the time and accidents will happen, but they are good.

You're in good hands.

EDIT: I came to National Net when they bought Strictly Hosting. That was an excellent host too.

I have been with natnet for a long time... tried some others on the way along for other projects, such as likewhoa (turned out to be like dead), a small company out west (the partners called each other names and went out of business), and a reseller type guy who didn't do any of his own support, and screwed up requests daily.

NationalNet is my host. I am sure they will get the servers moved from Austin to Atlanta without big problems, and will have them up in decent time. They know how to do this stuff!

It's all good in the end, don't worry!

Stacycat, I think the answer to the "why not copy them" things is pretty simple, actually: Imagine 300 servers (and I have no idea how many servers invovled in this move, except to say that renting a cargo plane for the move should say a bunch!). That would be 300 backups to run, then 300 backups to reload, and most importantly, 300 new servers to buy to accept the data. Beside the issue of cost, there is the issue of time and timing: That many backups and restores would take a long time to do, some people would lose days of data and such as this happened.

IMHO, of course! :-)

well, we are all back up and running..my server looks ok..even has the same IP..DNS issues were boiling around in my mind but all is ok..

Now..If I can just get rid of this damned flu!! I am sick as a dog!!
