I have a problem and want to know how bad it is...

The thing is I have no access to my server stats. It means I have no clue which are the LL or domains that are actually sending traffic to me and which ones doest. Of course I know the popular big ones and I guide myself for the PR but I cant really "see" it.

I share my hosting with some buddys. For some reason the server doesn't let us see any of the domain stats so I contacted the Server Tech Support. The tech told me he needed the master username of the server and the pass to fix the problem. When I asked for it to my friend he said he couldnt give it to me and that was his final answer. I got mad and stuff coz now Im not able to see those stats.

Now my buddy tells me "people give those stats more impotance that the one they really deserve". Is that right??? I think knowing those stats is kinda basic to keep on working forward and getting more and more traffic.

I am sharing the server with them coz im not really making much money YET, so, should I try to get a new hosting with stats access or should I let it pass and keep working with no server stats???

Yes, get your own hosting. I pay 29.95/month and have LOTS of storage and transfer AND great stats.

I think stats will come in handy, but that's not the larger issue here, IMO.

Think of it this way, if getting a stats program on the box is so difficult now imagine how much difficulty you may have with more serious problems.

I agree with Licker4U, but not just because of the stats issue.

Your "buddy" won't let you have access to the stats. Some buddy. Next thing you know he'll kick you off the server. Bottom line is you don't have complete control of your sites. You can get acceptable hosting for as little as 15-20 bucks. If you're serious, make the investment.
