Our Xbizaward Nomination

For the past 3 years we have been nominated for the Xbiz Online Community of the Year award. This year was no different. And each year, being associated with the other sites nominated has made us very proud. This year, our nomination should have made us more proud than any other year. We decided not to participate in the "Vote For Us" campaign Xbiz had for the nominations. And yet, we were still nominated.

This campaign seems to have brought out the worst in people and there are a few sites on the nomination list that we prefer to not be associated with.

It is with regret that we are asking Xbiz to please take GreenguyandJim off the list of nominees for this award. Perhaps next year, there will be more to being a nominee than the ability to stuff the ballot box.

I do thank all our members that voted for us. As I said, we never posted a link nor asked to be nominated. And yet, you guys came through for us.

I am sending this post to Xbiz and I do hope that by sometime tomorrow, we will be removed.

If you would like to see the list of nominees, here is the link.

I just got word that we have been removed. The day Sponsorchat gets nominated and Netpond doesn't, is the day we walk away.

That & Why Fuck Yourself - they're only 3 months old! Put them in the Up & Coming category (and this has nothing to do with the owner)

I'm sorry to hear that Jim but I fully understand your decision. Netpond has been around for a long time and helps a lot of people from what I understand. Sponsor Chat? And yeah WhyFuckYourself is new, how can it be in for Community of the Year?

Also I see WantBoobs.com up for Adult Site of the Year?
No offense Joel (if you still run it) but WantBoobs has been a dying horse for 2 years of more. Site of the Year?

It's a shame you had to do it Jim, but I certainly understand why.

Speaks volumes about why this board is what it is

Well...I think you guys actually deserve a nomination. Sometimes the good stuff rises to the top by itself IMO.

Good for you GG&Jim and MP
Why even bother, if all the surfers on GFY place their vote we know who this year's suprising winner will be...
Communities should be rated on quality, not quantity (we all know Sponsor Chat has like a gazzilion members)

Good move MP.
Helmy is looking into a few things today. He asked if we could have anyone step forward and tell him about sponsorchat. All I did was send him a list of these links. I think we beat that dead horse to the bones and I didn't really want to have everyone posting again about them.

I have never believed in anything which involves voting.

Even democracy.

Helmy feels safer sitting on the fence MP. Check your email...I cc'ed it to you. I will send it out in the newsletter tomorrow as well. He asked "me" to find 7 other nominees that want them removed. I let him know that was more his job than mine. I also told him all he had to do was a quick google search of sponsorchat+scam But hell, there are only 388 results for that.

I gave up on X-Biz a ways back, none of this surprises me.
