Paypal scam?

Is there a Paypal scam going around where you're supposed to authorize a transaction but you're told if it isn't valid you're supposed to click a link in the e-mail and go give your Paypal info?

That scam has been going around for years. Paypal itself says it willnever send out emails where your name isn't used in and to an email address that's not your default address in your paypal account. So you might want to check those things first.

Umm.... No. That's not a scam. Please click the link, go to an IP address that doesn't resolve to a name and enter not only your bank information but also any credit card information that you might have

I knew it was phishy when I got the e-mail at an address I got back in August. I got the Paypal account 6 years ago when I thought I was going to try and sell something on E-Bay. Never used the account

Those scam emails can be tricky, just don't do it!

I get the paypal scam emails several times aweek for auctions I won that I never even bid on.

Just in the US there are at least 62 million of them - Bush received about 51 percent of the votes cast (62 million votes) in 2004

I had thought about this myself. But I can see how they fool a lot of new people that have not been around for years on the net. I've seen some that looked very real and professional at first glance.

That Nigerian one is classic SirMoby.

But some people were very smart to vote for Bush. They got huge no bid contracts, changes in laws and all kinds of goodies paid for by you and me.

While watching american idol a little last night i went up one on my tv channel and caught the end of the guy that does to catch a predator. This time though the show was about catching con men. They mentioned people that had actually given over thousands of dollars on the 419 scams and then took it a step further and actually got a couple in other scams to come out from their snake holes and get them on camera in london. That's about all I caught cause then I got wrapped up in american idol nonsense.

I do find it just

that people fall for this type of stuff though.

That was good Sparky.

Paypal scams, never fell for one of them. But I did almost fall for a Bank of America scam. The only thing that saved me was when logging into BofA, they show you an object and what you named it. If it isn't there, you are getting scammed. This scammer used a misspelling of bankofamerica on both the text and the link itself.

Exactly. Why do I get 400 spam emails a day? Because people open them, click the links, and buy stuff from them. They day people quit doing that is the day spam disappears.
