WP Widgets Aren't Working

I just updated my WP blog and now my widgets aren't responding to what I enter into the theme editor and default widgets are being displayed that i cant remove. is there a way to disable the default widgets or active the theme editor. the site is girlmeatblog.com when i remove or add a widget it stays like this.

I''m not a widget kind of guy but I did search around a little bit and couldn't find anything that would lead me to believe this is a bug.

I'd suggest downloading a fresh copy and re-installing all the files on your server. Perhaps one of the bits got lost somewhere in translation.
