maybe someone can help with this???
i am making a site for my cousins new storage business. he wants to use two domains one which is the entire name of the company all spelled out completely and the other an abbreviated version he wants to use for print ads etc....
so we want to make them both point to the same site which i already did by associating both domains with the same server. but my question is....how will doing something like this affect things like search engines, etc...? should i do one as a perm 301 to the other or is just having them both on the same host good enough? i have no experience doing this before so any info on this type of thing is appreciated!! thanks everyone. -abatis |

I think if you 301 it, you'll be fine & the 2nd domain will be the one that's indexed. Look at http://www.espn.com - that redirects to http://espn.go.com/ and you can find all kinds of SE results on http://espn.go.com/

thanks for the input guys.....two sites would be a good idea too didn't think of that. im not sure if i want to get that complex for just local storage company site though. just want to make sure i don't shoot myself in the foot or my cousin i guess for that matter. ok any way, thanks for the input...if anyone else has anything to add feel free.
