Are AIs like Siri going to make Google obsolete?
As more devices with built-in AI assistants come to market people will be using Google less and less to find stuff.
Siri seems to be the first AI incorporated into a device but I'm sure that there will be others soon. IBM's Watson is even more powerful than Siri which gives an idea of where this technology is going. So are Google's days numbered? |

Ohhh, they have something in their backyard for sure, google translate and google images are a big part of it. you can find readings that google AI can read text on images in any language, also they have that mic button in their search form so they get millions of voice entries everyday. they learning everyday and they have unlimited pile of cheese. i think it's only a matter of time before they announce something.

Hope we don't end up with talking ads on AIs that you have to listen to before you get your results.
The thing about using AIs for searching is it can be more like social networks in results. Over time as it gets more advanced you could ask it things like "find me a movie that my circle of friends liked." Kind of like Netflix. Next time you ask it for a movie it could ask you to rate the last one it recommended. Over time it would get to know your tastes and your friend’s taste in movies, food, entertainment, etc. |

I dunno Cleo, I find it kind of obtrusive when a search engine presumes to think for me. I check google news every day because I'm a bit of a news junkie, but if I check it on another computer I get different headlines.
If I just want a quick glimpse about what's going on in the world I'd rather not have it tailored to my own interests, I could miss something that would interest me that I haven't searched for or read an article about before. I really do hope that google gets some serious competition though.
