porn sets shut down?
back in oz hi to everyone, probably already been posted but I Just read...
Aids scare halts porn films AMERICA’S porn movie industry was shut down last night after a performer admitted he had tested HIV-positive. Adult film star Darren James was given the devastating news on Monday. He had tested negative in three-weekly check-ups since 1998. He appeared in movies without wearing a condom. All 12 female porn stars he had sex with in the past month have now been traced and alerted. The US Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation also wants to test all of those women’s sexual partners. The regulator has ordered a two-month shutdown for all adult movie production. James is the first US porn star in four years to be diagnosed with the virus — which can lead to Aids. An industry insider said: “Aids is achieving what politicians in Washington have been trying to do for years — close down the porn business.” |

Actually it amazes me that condoms are not used when shooting all porn. I think about this every time I see creampie or other content involving cum in the model content.

Actually what happened is the guy, Darren James, went down to Brazil to shoot a video there and came back and that's when he tested HIV positive. Of course the issue is he did a few movies when he got back to LA so there's the problem.
The bigger problem is Brazil is known to be highly HIV infested yet he and the production company, run by TTBoy, did not where condoms. A lot of people are pissed about it. Jenna Jameson is the one who has called for a halt and her company (one of the largest) has halted everything for 60 days. |

when shooting hardcore scenes, the very few that I have shot. I always try to get a male female couple that are in a relationship already. This I feel cuts down on the chances of anything like this. Ok rules out group sex shoots or any of those but still I feel it's safer. I've known a few girls in Britian and Oz that have picked up STDs from girl/girl shoots, no HIV but uncomfortable things all the same.
hopefully it's the last case, but we all know it won't be. regards garv |

I heard it on a few conservative radio talk shows yesterday. Kind of off the point but, why would anyone in this business be a Republican? I don't think I will ever understand that type of thinking. I actually heard one radio host laughing about it saying, "what comes around, goes around".

I doubt any of the answers would make it any clearer to you or I though... I also wonder why So Many adult webmasters seem to be republican supporters..... but then I think back to August 2001... when every day, on almost every board, there were jokes about GWB and hardly anyone (American or not) would say a good word about him.... and then how fast that changed... I hope that once Bush follows his dad onto the single termers garbage pile... America wont "have" to rally behind him anymore... and I hope things get a little more back to the normal "anti-government" leaning American's seemed to usually have prior to the NYC attack. |

I agree Opti
I wonder when all the problems with this country will stop being because Bill Clinton's fault. Why would anyone support a party that has a goal of putting them out of business? |

Not being American, it's hard to really know if Clinton was a good President for the US or not... but I suspect if you take a vote of foriegners 75+% would think Clinton was one of the top 2 or 3 post-WW2 President's there has been.... and I bet GWB would be listed in the bottom 2 or 3 by most.
That fact alone is ammunition to the anti-Clinton camp though I guess.. but chances are Reagan would probably be Clinton's main rival for most popular recent President among foriegners.. so i dont think the Rep -v- Dem argument is actually very relevent to those outside the US. One thing I doubt even Republicans could argue about... Clinton was/is an amazingly charismatic person who played world politics better than either of the Bushs or Reagan... Clinton had the world eating out of America's hand and we were actually liking it! I wouldn't say I had great confidence in that guy the GWB beat (I honestly cant even bring his name to mind this second!!) but 2 major things that would have been different on Sept 11 if he had won.... The International War Crimes court would not have been undermined for NO REASON apart from populist propoganda for Bush... and the Kyoto agreement would have eventually been ratified in some form.... I am not sure American's really realise how enormous the effect of GWB's destruction of those two pieces of true worldwide co-operation had.. I believe that France and Germany and even the Russians would have RACED to support the USA in any effort...... had GWB not managed to have already trashed the trust Clinton had built up amongst the world community in America. A trust that I dont recall EVER being there before in my lifetime. |

thats analigous to saying that the democrat party wants the government to own all property just because there are is a small camp of socialists within it most conservatives (which i cout myself amoung obviously LOL) dont have any issue with porn, art, speech, muslims, homosexuality, or any of the things that the religous rights vebose stuipidity has caused most people to associate with the party. we believe in freedom, smaller government, less taxes, the rule of law, and a strong military. Thats about it. none of those things lend themselves to the desire to make pornography illegal. If anything i would suggest looking to history and what the dems did to the music industry back in the late 80s for a real warning as to who doesnt want the unwashed masses to be exposed to things without its approval first. and to answer your question opti "I also wonder why So Many adult webmasters seem to be republican supporters" - its because the republican party is much more on the side of small business owners than the dems are. The moral issues aside, democrats would prefer to tax us out of exisitance long before the republicans would want to destroy such a lucrative sector of the economy not trying to start a big debate or anything, but if yall really wanna know why i thought i would explain the reasons... for me at least PS there are some seriously religious fanatics on conservative talk radio, most of them are unthinking reactionaries rather than strict constructionists. those are usually the complete assholes who give conservatives a bad name too and i cant stand them. PPS if you have ever watched southpark and agreed with what they are talking about, then odds are you agree with most conservatives. Trey parker and matt stone are extreamly conservative in the "morals" of their shows

You may be right about Republicans. I was only thinking of the Republicans that have recently been in the Whitehouse. You guys ought to get together and get someone that represents your views to lead your party. |

Great Post Security_Man! that is a good explanation of why a webmaster might prefer the Repubs! I like how you point out how the right wingers in the Republicans are not representative ... then throw this bit in at the end "democrats would prefer to tax us out of exisitance" btw.. I usually vote for a Liberal party candidate here... they are our closest equivalent of the Republican party. |
