It's Snowing Greenies! (2013.12.11)
Good morning.
I finally feel "normal" after a few days of feeling crappy. It's funny how even being sick seems to change as you get older. I don't seem to get really sick (temperature, sneezing, coughing, etc.) as much but I get on the verge of it more often. Weird. So, I guess today will be "make a list day" as I feel out of touch with what I need to do. Oh yeah, I have to take my dog in for grooming too. Have a good one! |

Got up at 4:30 to go to the gym with Christy. I feel a nap in my future.
Typing this on my new used early 2011 17" Macbook Pro. It arrived around 2 pm yesterday. The UPS guy was driving a golf cart looking thing pulling a little flatbed trailer. He said that it was something that they are doing for the holidays. Got a little worried when I saw that the box looked like it had been thrown off the top of a hill and run over by a truck before being given to a gorilla to play with. Laptop was wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap and looked totally unused. It even still had the clear protective film that Apple puts on their new stuff so I don't think it had every been used by anyone. The migration utility took 8+ hours to copy eveything over from my old laptop to the new one which was very surprising since I had then connected with a FireWire 800 cable. This was probably due to the old laptop running Lion and the new one is running Mavericks. New laptop is FUCKING FAST!!! Booted the new one and everything was ready to go. Did have to download a few system updates and a firmware update but other than that eveything was just the way I had left my old one right down to the desktop pics. Just a day of work planned along with some errands this evening. |

Just back from a run into town to visit the posti. Got 90% of my cards mailed out - a record for me. I have a few more to do, but these are staying local, so I have more time. It really wasn't as crazy as I imagined. Our snow is melting. We had a good snow earlier this week, with nice cold temps. Now it has been up around 35F, so everything is melty and slushy. Not my favorite kind of weather. Great day to curl up and just stitch, though I do have some updates to do.
