				Domain vs. Subdomain vs. Directory
What are some of the cons/pros of the following places for blogs? 1)purchase a website down just for your blog 2)put each of your blogs on a subdomain of the same domain 3)put each of your blogs in a different directory on the same domain For example: 1)www.asiansexblog.com 2)asiansexblog.sexsite.com 3)www.sexsite.com/asiansexblog/ Which options do you think work better for SEO / SE traffic / pagerank / alexa /quantacast /etc ? Thanks. |

| bang bang | for a "main" blog that is less splog like I would make it www.domain.com for feeder type or more splogish type blogs I do those on subdomains. for SEO if you have a couple decent inbound links to a subdomain it's going to get traffic. Heck I've got some that are all in sup index and they still get plenty of SE traffic. splogs I just rip and move on. see what happens with them and learn from them. I don't focus that much time on going back on them. Learn and move on. |

				 | Nice post. I was curious about the same thing. From my understanding each subdomain is treated like a separate domain name. If your main domain name get penalized your subdomains will be feel it. It's not a good idea to put links on the main domain pointing to any of the subdomains. Is it okay to link subdomains to subdomains? I don't know. Here's a quote form something I recently read Quote:
