I tend to ask a lot of questions - and Jim is well aware of my brain picking tendencies - so I guess it should come as no surprise that I'm the first to ask for some help.

Since I started shooting my own content and using it for submissions (galleries, free sites), the signups have risen dramatically. It's amazing how creative you can be with your design when you also wield the camera!

So - here's the question - would it be worth doing exclusive shoots for certian high-traffic tgps/link lists? I'm thinking that I could base shoots around themes of each site in question.

Actuall shoots cost me very little and I can knock out several sets in under an hour. Plus, for submitting purposes, I use revshare. So, all in all, the financial outlay would be extremely minimal. And, obviously, some of the shots could be thrown into avs sites or whatever.

Sound like a plan? Or should I hit myself over the head with a basball bat?

Actually kristian I think it's the content that's doing the selling. Fresh content nearly always outsells stale or overused content in my experience.
Which leads to an interesting crossroads.
If you shoot custom content that surfers can eventually surf around for for free on tgps and link lists, why would a paysite owner purchase your shoots for their paysite?
If you count 1995 as a starting point for somewhat regular internet connections, the Net is about 8 years old. In that time, there has been hundreds of content providers. I'm sure some of them tried what you're suggesting.
Yet I don't see anyone other content provider doing so now, leading me to believe that it is Not a money winner, and that it will in fact lead to a diluting of your core product.
Though quite a few providers still offer custom shoots for a price. Check out tommy's logo etc...
I'd say 50-100 custom pics tops.

You are more than welcome to continue to submit your free sites, etc.. though I would wonder what the surfer thinks when he sees your pictures on free sites, and NOT in a paysite that made them sign up. (meaning, I would only promote the sites that actually have the content in the members area, and keep the exclusivity of free site and tgp galleries with your content to yourself)

At this point in the game, I'd suggest keeping a bit with the status quo.

Greenguy, Cleo (not cloe ), dareutwo thanks for helping out. I'll give some examples, but before I do I should say that - at least until next year - I'm a producer at present, not a provider. I aim to provide later in the year, perhaps, a service similar to rockbottomcontent. Right now, I've got a lot of equipment, and I'm just figuring out how to use it all, researching this side of the industry, weighing up the pros and cons of various scripts to use, and using my content simply for my own submissions.

It's working quite well. For example, I can produce 3/4 usable sets in a 1 hour shoot, which - posted on just a few high-traffic sites - will generate $1k + in signups. And this is pure profit. Hosting costs me nothing (for my submission domains, at least), and I get my content for free. Not sure what you call them in the U.S, but I own a few terrace houses; small, narrow things. I was approached by a couple of tennants, when they found out what I do, to do some modelling in exchange for the rent.

So, there ya go. A bit of background. Now for the examples!

Greenguy...This would be fun. You've got a girl and she's sat at her pc feeling horny, lookin for porn. She finds link-o-rama. Behind her back, we see a grew glow emanating from the shadows. Now she's pulling out a dildo...and, yeppers, she's just about hiding all of those 12 inches. In a FULL SHOT, she's playign with her tits and licking out that tongue, and looking like she hasn't cum in a month. And framing her head is more of this green glow - except now is more intense. On the pc monitor we see a green dude flipping us the bird. The next moment the girl is thrown to the nearby bed. She's on her back. Covered in this glow. And she's getting the fucking of her life. We're left with a final shot: her face dripping green goo...and three gooey letters scrawled across her forehead -- L-O-R.

So, that's it. The plan would be to tailor some shoots to high-traffic sources, and the high-profile positions should produce good results.

kristian - while I do like the idea, I will say that I think 99.44% of the surfers masturbating while looking at my site are male - LOL

We did something similar to this during a few of the amateur shoots we did for Anne Loves Greenguy, where we had the models looking at the paysite & getting naked - sorta the same theory.

I'd give it a shot - what's the next step?

I think a better idea would be to produce AVS sites with your themes and then do the free sites with some sample pics letting the surfer know that more can be found in your AVS sites.

Cleo - I was just thinking about that - throwing the pics behind an AVS on link-o-rama.com & then doing monthly updates (til I can get the totals up over 100 & then go Platinum - LOL)

I like the AVS idea. I guess I could make a premium avs (updated weekly) and feed it with galleries, free sites, small avs sites. Sound like a plan? I could fill the premium avs with a few 1000 puchased pics and movies, complement it with my own shoots, then set up the usual assortment of features, including a forum. I could then feed it with a combination of targetted high-traffic sources, general sources, se rankings, and exchanges.

If you like the blue-print, maybe you'd like me to chart it's progress here on the board, detailing each phase and including stats (traffic, signups, members, retention levels, etc). It might be useful to newbies and I'd be happy for anyone to use the links as templates (I'll leave out the copyright on everything but the premium site).

So, if in your opinions it sounds financially sound, I'll get started ASAP. Will have to juggle my current work-load, but I can see the premium avs being finished within a week...maybe.

Let me know your thoughts - and any adjustments to the idea.
