What trial memberships work for you???

We are always testing Trial memberships to see what really works and converts!

Can you guys and gals give me some input...

Example:

3 Day Trial - $2.95 recurs @ $29.95 ect....

Hi Nader,

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'm converting 1:8 (tgp traffic) with $1:85 -- 3 days trial @ $29.99 recurring, including access to 80 more sites as part of the trial and membership. The reason this isn't SUCH a good example is it's only based on 3 galleries (a friend's recent success spurred me on to give them a go).

In terms of selling tools, I've always found it pretty easy getting good conversions when able to offer access to other sites as part of the membership (everyone likes good value for money, of course). $1 trials are good too (for any length of time). Instead of the psychological pricing of a few cents less than the round figure, one buck has a nice honesty about it which I find works well.

Oddly enough my best converting sponsor right now has no trial.

I use to do real well with free trials.

i did some experimenting with this when I first opened up my paysites and found that no trial works best. When we had trials, people would join on the trial and quit immediately (most of the time before they even logged in according to logs) so they would avoid the rebill. When we went no trial, we got a few less signups but the overall effect was that those that joined stayed for longer. This was a HUGE boost to our retention, it went from 80% quitting within the first month to 80% staying an average of 5.5 months now.

So, yes, we lost a few surfers to the no trail pricing but the overall effect was a huge increase in retention and profits for both us and our affiliates.

Of course, this is just my experience, I guess it also depends on the quality of your traffic too.

I think if you have a poor members area trials wont convert...

I believe that 7 day trials convert better than 3 day ones...

its all about how much $ you get in the end
if you can have the trials recurr well then go for it...
I experienced the same stuff as chilihost on some of my projects
but not always...

I am not having any luck with free trials. Orgasmcash, and siccash. Getting sick and tired of feeding them traffic. will be pulling those down soon.

It might not be the fact that their sites you are puching traffic are not converting because of "free trials" ...in marketing "free" has proven to be a great tool to acquire sales by allowing a taste of what you offer if i may. It can be that its your traffic...maybe sending it to unappropriate sites? maybe you have to study or analyze ( we do :-) your traffic vs. those specific sites and tweak? until you find the "type" of traffic to the right site! Every traffic varies. Yes, lots of looky loos...or maybe its just none of that and its the sites and how their designed or even structure with their joins, content, tour, etc...

Our free trial sites are doing more better than ever....better than when they had paid trials....

I feel that a majority of online users now days are much more net savy, ya they will still be turned on but once they sign on i believe that they cancel before it converts. from past experiences. It's been a while, i used to make of alot $$$ with search engines in the past. Now everyone is fighting for signups. You guys have provided me with some good points, but i think i still need to try many options.

I have a idea that i have;nt seen. I'm gonna try it and i promise to let you in on it. Only on this board!

My only example for whether free trial works would be flash cash....

I send many hit to the Mr Skin area of flash cash... both free and trial basis... and the trial basis makes me heaps more dollars.

I have no idea why... but I do know I would be more inclined to offer a low cost trial rather than a free trial. And I am sure that is where I would send my hits in the future.

Do you think the sufer sees some kind of devalue of the free trial? and will therefore ignore it or reneg within the hour?

The reason why free trial sign ups dont convert better than paid trials is because those "free" type of traffic are cheap ass people always looking for free stuff...the paid trial member is actually a surfer who doesnt mind spending a few bucks.

Since I converted my sites to full price ($30) joins, I have improved my sales ratios, and even have 10%+ of joins going for the 1 year $100 option.

You make a LOT more with no trials.
