7.3 Oil Pan Corrosion:
Some engines may exhibit oil pan corrosion if operatted in high salt enviroments. If corrosion is found, the pan should be cleaned of oil and dirt, sanded and cleaned. Apply Motorcraft PM-13-A High Temp Anti-corrosion Coating to the pan. TSB #02-20-5

I called ford this morning and the dealer got caught lying to ford

They said I had only been there 2 times total. When I mentioned the new turbo charger, the ford woman looked it up and low and behold, she found another list of me going there over 20 times. 3 of those times for oil leaks.

I think I will be getting this $1200 oil pan for free.

The dealer has 5 days to respond to ford and myself about resolving this problem.

I turned wrenches for 10 years, and I don't know why Ford truck oil pans always rot out. GM and Chrysler oil pans don't, and from the price you posted I see that you have a van

Those things are an absolute motherfucker to change the oil pans on...the first time I did it was once too many.

Ford trucks have had this same issue since the mid '80s. Perhaps one day they'll use better paint on their oil pans
