World's Most Secure Severs on the Micro-Nation of Sealand

While reading stuff on Wiki, I came across this article on Sealand today. It is a micro-nation. The Wiki piece is here here. It is located in international waters about 7 miles off the coast of England. The owners consider it a real country though no one recognizes it, however, England and others appear to leave it alone. The official Sealand site is here. The history is very interesting.

Anyway, a company called HavenCo has been providing co-location services "since May 2000 and is fully operational, offering the world's most secure managed servers in the world's only true free market environment, the Principality of Sealand".

I don't want this to be considered spam so I won't link to HavenCo. I don't know these guys from a hole in the ground but I find it interesting what people will do to get their servers away from the prying eyes of government.

Interesting, I like their style. I was planning on doing something similar once I have the money.

I wanted to create a place where top scientists and researchers from around the world could come to conduct their business free from religious and political interference.

bypassing the pestering politicains and brainwashed citizenry will enable research and progress to move ahead at almost unbelievable speeds.

I find it interesting what people will do to get their servers away from the prying eyes of government.

I'm not a CS major, but it would be interesting to hear when servers and ISP's will have the capabilities to move into orbit.
