Greenguysboard and Tubes

Since so many sites are becoming tube sites these days should greenguysboard have a tube category in this forum now?

We all have tube sites now and wouldn't it make greenguysboard one of the first boards to have a tube category for tube site owners to discuss topics that are relevant to their sites?

There is a line in the film Trainspotting where the Scottish lead character is talking about the English. I think the same quote could be used about tube sites. The line is this (with apologies to any Scots for the slight Americanisation of the quote), simply replace the word "English" with the phrase "tube site webmasters":

Just ended another R&R from Afghanisfuckinstan and thought I would drop by the board and see what's going on.

Was talking with Nymph about tube sites and wondering how they are making money giving away so much free porn. Are they making it on live sex show sites? Dating sites? Sponsors? Tubes have to be making $$$'s somewhere, but where? Being in a Muslim country all porn is blocked so I haven't been able to keep my finger on the pulse of the porn industry but the big porn producers can't produce content without selling it to someone. Who is buying all that content that tubes are giving away?

With as much bandwidth the big tubes use, They have to be making money off the ads. They get paid every time somebody clicks on a link or get a popup. Some are making PPV sites, cam sites, and dating sites.

Good thing is with DMCA and companies like takedown piracy, It is making it more difficult for people to find newer free movies. If people don't want to waste alot of time looking for a particular movie title or want a better quality video, Hopefully they will land on one of our sites.

The free surfers on the tubes of course. They are buying!

Tubes are a bigger scale yes!! And some companies are probably ruined by their free content out there. But the people/programs that stay on top of it, use the tubes for promotion and cut 5-7 minute clips for promo, give away the odd full video and make up to date banners, ads and tours make sales.

Here's is some info for you on the big tubes. As an "affiliate" they send 100's of sales a day to paysistes/programs.... yes HUNDREDS a day! (it might actually be over 1000 to be honest, I just don't know the real numbers). Now throw in ad sales they make from the cams, penis pills, dating sites it adds up. And other paysites ...yes look around, paysite owners buy ads too all over the tubes and not just Brazzers other companies do too... because they make money.

Here is a quote from a guy on GFY:

The forum should just be labeled Provide Free Vids With No Hope Of Sales.

Just look for buy & sell forum. Totally different animal that operates on different basis. Some of us know how to monetize them, some of us dont. As Cleo said and pointed out most of the webmasters are using free vids with no links to the appropriate sponsors, vids are too long, there is no sell and teaser approach and that is just simply stealing of content. There are ways of providing legal content, but if doesn't mean you can't make money that way. It just requires more work.
I did made possible posting hosted vids on one of my sites but it's possible only for partners and I'm really happy that not one of them used it since, even where there is a simple admin review step and a place for sponsor link.

I think that the tubes are the cancer of the BIZ. A TOP tubes with a plenty of stolen content pumping thousands of clicks to their ADs with the ratio no bigger than 1:10 000. Which logically affects other webmasters who are working in a legal way.

I think most of us hate tubes, myself included. They hurt us all in different ways. Free porn sucks but their BIGGEST crime is the award google gave them, all of the traffic.

That said, if you don't have a tube or are working on a tube you're crazy. Just like Link Lists and TGPs, they are the new "in" thing and they seem to be here to stay.

I've got two tubes, a hosted one and one I run myself. Does well traffic wise, all my content is legal and above board, 2 min - 5min depending on sponsor. Hey, whataya gonna do, the only tubes that do well are the large [cough, illegal] ones that offer full length films. Everyone here knows that's the reality of porn these days, it's free and ain't nothing we can do about it.

I compare the plethora of free porn such as tubes to be like watching sports.
For a casual fan there are a few free games on the networks and they can get their fix that way, but a true fan actually pays to see all the games on cable or satellite (love my direct TV)
