( Cory Doctorow is one of the guiding lights of boing boing, he was the the publisher of the original boing boing magazine (for those of you familiar with the early history of net esoterica). I knew him as part of the original cypherpunks and extropians (more early net esoterica) mailing lists, way back in the day. I like Cory Doctorow as a sci fi writer, crisp, clean writing, kinda brilliant. His two novels are online for free.)

I emailed the url to Fleshbot and they posted it almost straight away.

My stats for the last 20 hours have me at 135000 hits, over 5000 visitors. Phew!

But no sales yet, that I know of. I suspect the blog readers may be too savvy to pay for porn (although they're very keen for the galleries).

In any case, it will be an interesting experiment, and I should get some nice PR out of it, if nothing else

It is a fascinating experiment. I think there's every chance it will get linked from a ton of big places.

I wouldn't expect sales to be easy, it'll be curiousity-seekers by the thousands. Maybe try some celeb sponsors, if you can stand that kind of thing. And mainstream, of course. Ultimately, there's way more money in mainstream than in adult. It's just that mainstream sponsors mostly suck. ;-}

Please keep us informed, as much as you can.

I've had 300,000 hits in 3 days, 2 sales.
1:150,000 is probably not the best ratio LOL

More interesting has been watching the URL spread, and seeing who is linking to the site. I've got 3 pages on Google already No PR yet.

Just a couple thoughts -
1.) It's a parody site - not exactly sure if Any of them MAKE money.
2.) Curiousity will kill the cat - or your pocketbook - lol. I would add a pop up to adult site.
3.) Since practically No One knows what to expect... give them exactly that. Rotate Sex toy ads, books on Amazon, MP3 players, whatever you can think of. I would be rotating 50-75 different ads every week. Though make sure you can track the responses! (ie phpadsnew)

I would personally give them the porn stuff a few pages in... and stick with main stream to start with.

Looked like Fun to start with - but I think NOW your work really starts!
