On July 2018, Chrome (Version 68) Will Start Showing "NOT SECURE" Warnings For All HTTP Pages It Opens?!?!
I just noticed this in my email:
Are they really going to do this to all http domains & force everyone in the world to go to https?? |

I do not know what I will do. I tried to take camfoxes to https a while back and lost all traffic for close to a month before I said fuck this and went back to http. Traffic came right back too. |

I changed to https a couple months ago and ofc lost all the traffic but it came back after a week or two. I actually got more traffic after the change. Not saying it's related but at least it didn't affect me negatively

Same for me when I tried implementing https. Tracking software, as well as Google themselves treat http and https as two separate sites, not one. As soon as you switch to https, it's like you've changed your domain entirely.

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I've read that Google intends to punish non-https sites just like they did for sites that didn't have a mobile version.

It's FUCKING stupid!! We have to all buy or set up HTTPS for what? No reason. Our regular domains are fine without it. I have TONS of domains so it's been a pain in the ass.

I'll wait and see how bad it gets before going thru the hassle with 150+ domains I have now.
I see it all as bullshit. If you are not asking anyone to sign in or filling out something that collects info then this is just a fucking waste but I'm probably missing something. |

Look for Google to start charging for any useful information from their Analytics, or charging a fee for access to their API for third party tracking software. Bottom line, it's a money grab being sold to the public as a security improvement. Last edited by Toby; 2018-06-21 at 11:51 AM.. |
