How much do graphics impress affiliates?

Hey guys, I'm new here, very cool board.

I like the Green Guy, hehe.

I own TightFetish.com which I just laucnhed 5 days ago and already have 14 signups. Things are going well and Visa isn't even active yet (prolly a week or so longer).

My question is, I feel that my affiliate page and marketing page don't look so great. Does it matter?

Should I spruce it up with flash and make it look nicer or would it be a waste of effort?

I like to make sure everything is perfect and right now I just don't think that it is as good as it could be.

Anyone good with Flash and work cheap want to help?

Id appreciate any and all feedback offered.

Thanks.

looks good to me... some Hosted Free Sites and a link to this board with the others here http://www.tightfetish.com/Marketing.htm would be about all the additions I would worry about before you get visa setup.

Garv would be interested to see your site, and be a good man to talk to about traffic for it btw (can PM him via board)

Well, it would have been nice to have just edited whatever it was in my sig that went against the rules instead of just deleting the entire thing.

I guess.. someone obviously thought it would have been nice if you read the sig rules before setting one up.... and before spamming your program. Thought my welcome was pretty helpful though... can't please some people I guess |raygun|

Enjoy your stay.

Ok, well, maybe the sig rules should be in a place not recquring me to search for them, like maybe in an area next to the edit sig box?

I find it odd how everyone in this business claims everyone else for spamming something when doing nothing different than them..

What is it about being insulting and spiteful that people in this business find so appealing?

Yes, your post was helpful and appreciated, but when I come back to find my sig deleted and not even a link TO the sig rules, it just shows bad taste.

Oh well, good luck with the board.

This thread should be pinned as an example of idiocy for anyone wanting to promote their stuff here.

I'll just shutup and let the spammers like you get canned in future.. you show there is obviously good reason for not wasting time on them.

Tightfetish,

Time for some attitude adjusment...

You will find a ton of people here that will help you get things right , and they will give you that info for free...

All that is asked in return is that you are civil and abide by the rules..

You are visiting "GreenguyandJim's" house now.. they make the rules.

If your sig is the most important part of your post you are in the wrong place.

You obviously think Im just some spammer. Ok, fine. I posted here with honest intent. My sig gets deleted and when I bring it up calmly, you decide to start tossing insults.

I think you have shown the overall mentality of half the people in this business.

Part of any formal introduction is explaining what you do and what your about which is what I did. That makes me a spammer?

My friend told me about a site that lists a world of webmaster forums. I went to all of them and signed up introducing myself.

We are in the adult web business and my sig is for my own site, not just some sponsor Im trying to push. I think there is a difference.

And for the record, no, my sig isn't the most important part of my posting but it helps me eat and informs people about what I do.

Am I really the only person who feels this whole direction of topic is rediculous?

How bout I start up a "My favorites shoes" forum and then mock people for talking about their shoes...

Tightfetish,

I havent seen the "Register page in a long long time.... but I went and had a look..

..and you must have hit the agree button on the page that says...

You will not use a banner in your signature file larger than 120x60 pixels (with 40 characters of text under it) OR 80 characters of text for sig files that do not contain images. If you have a table in your sig, it must be no bigger than 120x60. You must use standard text in your sig, which means you can not use: Bold Text, Huge Text or Colored Text. Greenguy & Jim reserve the right to alter or delete any sig files that do not follow these rules.

I believe your sig still breaks the rules , that you agreed to at registration...

No.. this thread is not about picking on you.. it is (now)about 'respect'. Respect for the rules, respect for the opinions of others etc.

"We" don't know you... so we are forming that opinion now...

If I was you I would let the sig BS go, fix my sig, and re-ask the question.. You have everything to gain..

JMO

Damn - DDave beat me to it

Here's the link to the register page that you clicked "agree" on before you signed up:
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/register.php
Log out before you click on the link, because if you're already logged in, it will not display.

And you sig file was not deleted, it was just turned off - if you went to your profile, you'd see that.

PS - I don't think your a "spammer" as most of them don't even notice that their sig files are turned off

Fair enough.

And, you know no one ever reads anything that looks legal before they click accept. lol

I need to form a board and add some things about "soul ownership" in there somewhere.

I agree, Im going to just leave this alone. I was at fault for my sig being the way it was. I'll just leave it at that.

That is the best thing to do man . . . there is so much good business that goes on at this board that you are shooting yourself in the foot by pissing on everyones shoes.

The strictly enforced rules here make it the board it is . . . if you expect to get any of the GG&J webmasters traffic you have got to put yourself in your place and realize that you have left a shitty first impression for everyone to overlook.

Other than that . . . the design of an affiliate page does and does not help your marketing . . . there are sites that rely heavily on having a super nice presentation to hook new affiliates. Then there are those that just don't give a fuck - it all comes down to your product. If you have something that is hands down unique then webmasters are gonna sign up and promote you no matter what. But if your product is run of the mill - you may need that extra flash and design elements to add the bling factor to your program.

The flash for OC Cash was done by the Dickmans . . . always good work from over there.

Yeah, I never meant to pissing on anyone's shoes. It just sort of bothers me when I'm branded as a spammer when all I am trying to do is introduce myself.

Granted, from the outside looking in, having gone through all of the forums I could find posting my introduction, it may look like I am just spamming. But I just figured it would be easier to post the same thing, providing some basic information about myself and get the ball rolling in discussions rather than focus on trying to make every introduction unique.

The point made about, if I were a spammer I wouldn't have noticed my sig being changed was pretty much dead on.

Im honestly just trying to build a business and working 13 hours+ a day in doing so.

I'm honest and I work very, very hard and just don't like being prematurely branded as something I despise.

It's all good though. I'm over it.

I would as well. Build some good FH sites and I'll list them and have a go at it.

What exactly are free hosted sites?
Like a fake TGP with only my content setup on them?

A hosted free site is a standard warning/main/gallery/gallery freesite with my affiliate codes hosted on the sponsor's server. This allows me (and other LL owners) to add the sites to our database as regular free sites and mix them in with our listings. I personally love FH sites, and at this point I won't sign up for any more sponsors that don't have them.

Build them to comply with all the standard LL rules, insert sponsor codes in links on the site via a php tag pulled from the URL, and voila!

BTW, as to your original question, I see too many sponsors with bad ass sites and shitty marketing material. Wanna impress me as an affiliate, have so-so affilate program pages and bad ass hosted free sites, banners (expecially odd sizes), etc.
