Stupid Things You Do As A Newbie!

Well I just managed yesterday to finish my .htaccess files after I found that someone at chatopolis had stolen a bunch of bandwidth. Of course I knew I had to do this but it never reached the top of my list until it was a problem. At least I knew what a .htaccess was for!

Anyhow, my latest blunder was to remove my warning page and go straight to my newly RENAMED fake tgp. What's wrong with that, aside from any legal concerns? Well, all my trades get back the wrong referrer so I don't get any credit for the traffic I send out and therefore no traffic back! Aaaaaaaaaah!!! -- Fixed that PDQ.

What did you do that was silly or frustrating when you started out as a webmaster?

hehe, everybody does silly/stupid things from time to time whether they are a "newbie" or a "veteran".

I blundered a good one just yesterday and it cost me a couple hours and a silly tech support request because I couldn't get an htaccess/htpasswd authentication to work for a client. D'OH! I named the file ".htacces" instead of ".htaccess" - and I definitely should know better. LOL

How much time do you have Art I could write a book. A few of my favorites

Miss spelled Tijuana ( tiajuanawhores.com)

Payed $3'000 for Search Engine Optimisation and Traffic (and not a single Chinaman was interested in Tijuana Whores)

Kept my sites hosted with the guy that recomended the guy above

A recent blunder went to a internet cafe in Tijuana to show them my new site (I'm useing the internet cafes to solicite girls to model and sell advertising)
and my site was nothing but white screen becouse I had left off </script>

And I just spent 6 mind numbing days (with a drunk thrown in the middle) changing all my pages to php and all my links and moving everything over to the new script that I had written, which I wouldn't of had to do if I hadn't been so gullible with the first programmer I hired

You don't need to be a newbie to do stupid things. I'm doing something stupid right now. I've got this new 10mbit dedicated server just sitting doing jack shit. Well, ok, it is hosting some domains, but i'm wasting all that bandwidth. Why? Because i'm too much of a lazy bastard to fill my a new mgp with hosted galleries so i can get working on it. I'm promising myself that over the next 2 or 3 nights i'll get those galleries uploaded.
