Google getting back to normal
well, I am starting to see some stabilization in google again... new pages getting in, existing sites getting ranked back in normal places... tons of bot activity.
Anybody notice anything weird this week? Alex |

Right now I can see at least 5 different sets of results across googles datacenters - after the little fubar they had two weeks ago where they lost part of their database (including all of the cache pages) Im sure they did a partial rollback on one of the indexes - they are definitely still trying to solve the problems with the algo, and like the autor of that articl stated - I sure wouldnt make any changes based on what youre seeing right now - I also disagree with his assessment of what caused the changes - but I guess they are all entitled to their opinion

Linkster, SEO comments written by people who either are not doing SEO or are doing it "blind" (fixing up a customer page but not actually running anything yourself) makes for a very distant view of the reality of Googleworld.
My take on google is this: The change the algo when they see excessive spam from any one direction (be it blogs, link dumps, crap pages, whatever) and they attempt to implement new filters to take care of whatever problem they feel they have. Then next 5 algo changes come as a result of trying to fix the huge screw up the original change was. I also think they randomly add and remove "factors" from the algo at each step to assure that the results are not predictable, and as a result, the methods used to gain those position in the lists is not as predictable either. I also think that at this point, google is bordering on total failure as an SE, as they seem bent on filtering out more and more good content, and replacing it with crap. Alex |

I'm sure there is some VP at Google screaming: " I hope your fucking resume was on one of the sites we can't find, asshole!" |samauri| |
