We learn the values we are shown.

And then we wonder why teenagers rebel against and have no respect for authority. I hope his mother rips somebody a new one as soon as she is back on American soil. Bunch of real patriotic humanitarians running that school, lemme tell ya

That's just simply wrong.

Anyone got an email address for this school??
I'm sure they'll love lot's of angry mail from around the planet

Oh, and both my parents were teachers that hate the way schools have become.
My dad was principal for 25 years.. he had the "Real" Board of Education in his office.
He'd be fired for even taking it down now.

Teachers like this should be on the wrong end of an anal destruction video. Seriously. Either that or send THEM to Iraq. Fuckers.

I think when people decide to become teachers they are doing it because they believe they can do great things for our next gen. But it doesnt seem to take long for the system to turn them into heartless, mindless droids.
This news story is one more example of a teacher who has lost his love for the job. That poor kid must going through enough without that.

a lot of people don't understand what it's like to have a loved one in a war zone... my brother was in the marines and his battalion was frontline all the way to baghdad when the war started... if someone tried to take my phone while I was talking to him over there they would have to call the police because I would have beat them senseless... that poor kid

I blame GW

My experience is about 50/50. Thinking about all the public school teachers that i've known in my adult life, I can say that 4 wanted to help and 3 wanted summers off.

The 2 that I know that went straight to university did it because they couldn't think of any other job that required less of them.

According to the Muscogee County School District Board of Education's policy, students are allowed to have cell phones in school, but cannot use them during school hours.

I say good - teach the young fella a lesson in following rules

When I read all the BS that goes on in todays schools it makes me glad I don't have any kids in the system and that I graduated from high school then college over 20 years ago.

The teacher could have handled this a totaly differant way. I know for a fact that talking to people overseas is limited. You just cant talk to them for hours. At most my calls lasted 15 minutes. The teacher should have sat back, let the boy finish his call and then worked with him afterwards some kind of time frame for the calls. Sure some could argue it would be taking away from the childs education, but how much could the teacher teach him in 15 mintues? Well I guess now the teacher will not be teaching the boy anything for the next 10 days. People just get crazy when they feel there position of power is being taken away, even more so if its a child taking it away.

CNN just said the school reduced it from 10 days to 3 days, so he will be back at school Monday.

The principle is blaming the kid saying the school made "offers" to help him contact his mother and he refused....

He was suspended not for the phone call, but for cussing at the teacher who hung up on his mother... Nice

LOL and the story gets deeper as the day goes on. Shit last couple of weeks i have seen the news where these kids got handcuffed for hitting teachers and a policeman. I think in this instance maybe the child was a little justified in spitting out a bad word or two. but who even knows if that happend, its the teachers word against the kid. and sounds like alot of back pedaling now. tomrrow we will hear how he grabbed the phone and beat the teacher to the point where they needed to see a doctor or something. OH NANNY 911 where are you when you are needed most lol.
