Listed on DMOZ, but not searchable ?
Hi!
On Sat 7th (May) my site FreePornRoute Links was listed on DMOZ, but till today, it is not reacheable by doing a search on this directory (even though you can find it listed at the respective category). Could somebody tell me if perhaps it is necesary to the DMOZ crawler to spider the directory so that my site will be reacheable when you search for it at DMOZ?? ![]() BTW, it is not even listed at Google Directory yet. Perhaps would be there (I understand that this directory is a copy of DMOZ) when it were spidered by DMOZ crawler?? more ![]() Thanks in advanced for your replies! Mcbethar ![]() |

It's been a while since this question has been asked... so forgive me if I'm a little hazy on the details.
But, as I recall, there's a delay between the time a listing is inserted by the editor to the time when the listings become available to the search function. I believe this delay is from hours to about a month, depending on when the site is added, within the dmoz operations cycle. And then a further delay, as far as the google directory is concerned, before google recognizes the site as being listed in the directory. I would say the internal dmoz delay averages about a month, the google directory delay can be three months. But it's been a while since I really researched dmoz, so don't shoot me if I'm wrong. ;-} |
