My second freesite? (lot of text allowed?)

Hi all, would you list my second freesite:

I used a lot of text to get a bit SE traffic. I didn't use any javascript (mouseover) cause some LL owners don't like it. Maximum of 3 outgoing links per page. A bunch of recips. A really simple layout.

I'm wondering is the text a bit too large or too much?

A little mistake has been corrected: i moved the really hardcore banner off the warning page to the main page (after the warning page). That's a bit nicer and follows certain LL rules more closely.

I don't think you have too much text on your site, but there are a couple of other problems.

You have a couple of blind links, i.e. "See girls learning the art of a good Gag" and also a horizontal scroll @ 800x600.

Fix this and it would probably be OK most places.

Looks like Lemmy hit the main points that would cost you listings

Other than that, the site looks very listable at the vast majority of link sites.

That said, the line about making girls cry would be the only reason I wouldn't list the site. But, I'm one of the few lists that has a rule about keeping things respectful and fun for the women involved.

Thanks Lemmy and MrYum, i did look at my site at 800x600 but at a resolution of 1240x1024, i think i forgot about the space that is reserved for the browser scrollbars and borders. So surfing at 800x600 is actual surfing at 780xsomething. I resized the thumbs from width 145 to 130 and adjusted the page width from 790 to 750 that fixed the 800x600 problem. Aaah blind links always my worst nightmare, i know i shouldn't do it but my finger type these things automagical

I've fixed this by putting "at [name of site]" behind the blind link texts. I'll surf to a couple of free site soon to see if there is a better solution.

(i think you need to press F5 to reload the style sheet otherwise the horizontal scrollbar will still appear)

i think text is king. its search engine food if your looking for search engine listing, and who isnt.

You may want to re-think the banner on the warning page, some LL’s have a problem with hardcore on that page. Just a thought from another “noob”. Good luck with the site.

But i still need to learn to write a bit more spicy english text. There is indeed a little bit of hardcore on the banner on the warning page, i first had the banner thats on the main page on the warning page, that's really hardcore

I'll look if i can find another "really" non hardcore banner for the warning page.

So you'd list it as it is (if he put up your recip) but you might not list it if he went to a different, less hardcore banner that you've never even seen?

Gagging is not softcore. Use a descriptive text link if you can't get listed with a HC banner. But why use some softcore banner that would look like it might be 100 things it's not? That would be blind to me.

Actually, it is blind to you, as you're making a judgement based on a banner that you have not yet seen.

It boggles my mind how an less hardcore banner could cause you to decline a site.
