USA Still a Democracy?
The Patriotic Act was not extended today and it's possible that the Dubya's secret police will start having to act like the police of a democratic society again. We'll see what happens.

Well, at least as nerveous and angry and the stone man can look. The war of Democracy vs. Fascism rages on. |

When the house, the senate, and the whitehouse are all run by one party, and worse, when enough of the supreme court justices sit on the same side of issues, you don't have democracy but a short run dictatorship.

The Patriotic Act allows law enforcement to invade your privacy, search your home, get very personal records and do this without notifying you or getting approval from a judge. Basically, secret policy type shit that should never even be considered in a democratic country. They put a higher priority on removing your freedoms then they do on protecting your savings or your health. |

I think what concerns me the most about his battle is that if something does happen that's more then an alert like in the past will it be blamed on the lack of the Patriotic Act? I think a few are crazy enough to at least hope that some attack will take place so that they have ammo to reinstate it.
