...more Mac software help

My friend with the new iMac that is building a foot fetish site has found a gallery maker that she likes, and is now looking for a DHTML Nav Menu Tool. Of course there are dozens of these for Windows, but no Mac versions available.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I use Adobe Golive for this but Adobe has replaced GoLive with Dreamweaver so I guess I'll be switching to Dreamweaver when I upgrade to CS3 this spring.

Lots of html editors over here. Probably one of them do DHTML menus.

Wow, what a timely thread, I am in need of a good text based html editor for a Mac. Anyone have any experience with any of these / any recommendations?

You can download a 30 day demo of Dreamweaver from Adobe's site.

If you are just looking for a text based html editor BBEdit is about the best. I use it myself for all my non WYSIWIG stuff.

And it has a free version, Textwrangler... to get a taste of it. There are lots of free and cheap html editors out for OSX, it is not easy to pick the best you need.

She has Dreamweaver, but I don't see an "easy" DHTML menu tool

Plug-ins are your friend

Not sure if this one works on both a PC and Mac

DW Plug-ins was one of the first places I looked. Pre-MX I had a menu plugin, but it was never updated by the developer after Macromedia modified the java engine with the release of DW-MX.

I've found lots of menu plugins, just none that work with Mac version of DW.

I scared of what Adobe is going to do with Dreamweaver now that they own it. I always preferred Golive and then Adobe bought it and made it worse and then killed it.

I may take Freeway for a test drive before buying Dreamweaver.

Toby,

would you tell me the name of the gallery builder your friend likes? I'm still looking... and no need to tell you that dreamwwaver is tricky when it comes to changes & and all that fun, you know that and can tell her.

Thanks Toby,
I'll check it... I have like 20 gallery makers and I am not too found in them. Using OS 9 I found Webpics and I am still using that one most of the time for its cool features.
Just in cae someone needs the link, here you go

My vote has gone to BBEdit from their first release. Plus, the company motto for Bare Bones Software is "Software That Doesn't Suck" ... too bad a lot of other folks don't follow that guideline.

BBEdit has probably gotten more use than any other application on my computer.

The foot fetish site? It's not live yet, she's building it in her spare time so probably a couple of months away yet, but there is a "coming soon" page with links to her main site and her foot fetish yahoo group. www.angelsfeet.com
