search function on my site

I just got this script mod done. It’s a user side search function on Richard’s www.usefulscripts.com Link Admin script.

I am just beta testing before I roll the whole thing out and am curious (especially if someone from usefulscripts could answer this) – I have an average of 60,000 visitors as day and an average of 15,000 hits per hour. Will the script “hold up”? I’m not sure of what the exact number of searches per hour will be.

I just wanted some opinions before I go all out with this thing. This is far from the finished product.

I have a search function like that on my sites..the search log you will find very interesting..

I like seeing my search page URL in my sponsor referrals.

So does Richard's script have a search function in it now? I never got switched to it because of it not having a search function. Ironically I ended up replacing my script's built in search function with a search script that I found on the web that would also probably work with Richard's script, but a built in is nicer.

Looks like it has some very sweet features.

Is your database MySQL? Or just a plain file?

Cleo - No link admin does not have a search function. I had a programmer add it on.

URB - It's a text file.

My programmer still working a couple kinks our right now.

Using a flat-file could slow your searches down at peak-hours. You'll probably have to do a full test to know for sure though.
