What do you consider too much give away?
What is too much give away? Too many pictures, too long movies, or is it how explicit they are?
A while back I wanted to submit a hardcore site that had about 12 teaser pics and then 12 hardcore pics and it got declined at a few LL's for not enough hardcore. What is your opinion on this, and I don't mean hardcore only but any free site, what is the boundary between teasing the surfer and giving away too much porn, and still get listed at all the major LL's? |

People used to, and still do, purchase porn magazines without seeing anything other than the cover. In some places, you can't even see the cover due to its wrapping. So what I'm saying is, if you give them anything more than a sheet of brown packaging paper with the promise of porn behind it, you are probably giving them too much.

I'm a strong advocate of the idea that LLs and TGPs should have rules against too much hardcore and against the use of any content which is very likely (in the reviewer's opinion) to allow a surfer to get off.
UW has a great point about brown paper wrappers. There's been a ton of porn sold online from pages that have either no images or very little in the way of images, let alone hardcore images. Of course it all depends on the 'selling style' you want to use. Some folks seem to prefer to overload the surfer with hardcore imagery until they either buy something or get off. That's a fine line to walk, and if the webmaster isn't good at it, there will be a lot of surfers who get away without spending a dime. And yes, it can depend on what kind of traffic you have too. Sometimes the selling style needs to be tailored to the traffic sources or the traffic sources need to be reworked to better match the intended selling style. Anyway, I'm not sure I exactly answered your question, but I am tired of typing now. ![]() .

Thanks guys, I agree with all of you and I believe that we are giving away too much on LLs and TGPs but I am still unclear on what a LL owner will accept as far as pictures related to the category. How many of the min 24 pics have to be hardcore to be listed on hardcore. I am using hardcore as an example, it can relate to any category; cumshots, blowjobs, lesbians etc.

Here's some advice for you:
When you make your 2 gallery free sites use 2 sets of content (one for each page), just make sure both match the niche you are submitting to. You can use a combo of softcore & hardcore in your 2 galleries and not give too much hardcore stuff away. The secret number to how many hardcore pics you need is something you need to figure out by trial and error (or posting the links here first and getting input before submitting them ![]() |

I've always felt that giving more, whether that was in terms of the number of pictures or their explicitness, was more about spinning counters than making sales. You have to think like a surfer to a certain extent to understand their motivations, but you can't lose sight of the fact you're a marketer, and you're here to make a sale.
