Yeah like a week ago.
It costs $100 more then the 8 gig. While I own around 30 gigs of music plus lots of movies I sync less then 5 gigs usually and even if I was going to get an iPhone today I would probably still get the 8 gig model and pocket the hundred bucks. |

I am the same way Cleo. Except if I was going to buy one today it would be 16gigs. Just in case.
My lovely wife has one as well. But, hers is full of music. She has no room for videos or anything else. She even got rid of artwork for more space ![]() |

I think you may relate to this comment made in one of the motorcycle publications I recently read. I know I do.
"I hate to buy any electronics anymore because no matter what state-of-the-art microchip it has, no matter how much I spend, by the time I get it to my car it's an 8-track player." |

Just think how the people feel that paid $700 for the 8 gig before the price was dropped.
This is the reason that I still don't own a flat screen TV. |

Speaking of saving money with hdtv's...I am done with buying new (kind of) I bought a 40" Sony Bravia this last Christmas for $600 by searching "refirbished hdtv" on amazon. This was the 3rd hdtv I bought this way and for the life of me, I can't see why they aren't sold as new.

No, but when I was thinking about it before Christmas, I was told that the 16gig was delayed until Summer.
![]() And Chris...I use mine for everything I can. I used to carry a timerunner around to Doctor's appointments to remember appointments, medications and all other information. Going to a Doctor's appointment a few weeks ago I was lost. I pulled out the handy iphone, clicked on a button and it showed me where I was. I typed in the address of where I was going and it showed me how to get there. While waiting, I watch the latest video podcast I happen to have or even listen to a book. Oh yeah, I listen to music on it too. And, I do use it to go online almost every night. |

I reckon they do this on purpose, they obviously had the 16gig at the time the 8 gigs were sold and i expect they have 32 and even 64 ready and waiting.

My eyes are up here.

I was thinking about the iPhone today and how powerful a tool it can be to some people.
I have a friend who is a realtor and I told him to get one so that he can load it up with photos of houses, interiors, fixtures, etc etc to show to prospective clients. Certainly there must be many many more good uses for it too.

Having it sync without any effort with my laptop means that I have all my contacts, appointments, photos, music, movies, that I want with me.
I'm running mine unhacked so I'm looking forward to 3rd party stuff later this year after Apple releases the SDK this month to developers. I'm using webapps a lot more since Apple made it so that you can make them buttons on the homescreen. One web app that I've come to use a great deal is tadalist. It's just an online todo list but by having the webpage open on the laptop that I keep in the kitchen and adding items to it I always have my grocery list with me. I've also got a bunch or other todo lists. Haven't my email with me always is fantastic too. |

When I was 12 I didn't get a Super Nintendo for Christmas because my father said to my mother "next year they'll come out with the Super Duper Nintendo, and he'll want that."
I converted to Apple this summer when I got a Macbook Pro (Santa Rosa). I love their products.

I know I have a 300 'baud' modem around somewhere but I haven't seen it in awhile. But I did know where this one was, from my collection of vintage computer gear, the Hayes Smartmodem 1200, which could automatically switch from 300 to 1200 speed if the connection supported it.
Amazing what you could get for $700 back in 1982 (review). This one's a keeper for sure. ![]()

There was a commercial on TV here in Canada some years ago. Had a guy driving down the street with a brand new T2 computer. On a billboard he was driving by they were putting up a new banner showcasing the New T3
![]() Anything you buy today will be old in a month. Whatever you paid, it will be cheaper at the same store within weeks. Sucks but such is life in the wonderful world of the consumer. My LCD TV I bought was hundreds cheaper in the flyer a month later, LOL. Last edited by Ramster; 2008-02-12 at 09:21 AM.. |
