LOL sometimes it is so depressing to look at old domains

So, i get one of those emails from godaddy about domains expiring - in this case in august.

I see that these are some of my older domains - and I go take a quick look at one of them...

And am instantly bemused - at the older freesites still there - but send ing traffic to crappy older paysites, which, surprisingly, are still up and taking traffic, but which look like shit.

man thats a drag - I used to make money off all those links.

Whats even worse is that I think to myself about what it would take to update those sites - and I realize that there really isn't any new site with a more modern look, that looks like it is getting updated, that i can trust with that traffic.

For all I know any site I change those links too will be defunct next year.

Lol and if I replace the ad spots with dynamic ads served by something like open, well, for all I know those dynamic ads will get exploited in a few months.

damn this blows.

I gotta figure out a way to make better use of the traffic those sites still get - what little of it there is.

Pulling a lot of expired domains each week. It's a good thing that I have a good bot for catching them.

What I find really depressing/disturbing is that I started a new domain for doing promo a few weeks ago. I've been building and submitting like crazy, getting listed, but very little traffic compared to the past.

I was doing some research for terms that are adult in nature but have nothing to do with tubes. Kept on getting tubes in the results. No only was it frustrating for me but I can imagine how the surfer might feel. Tubes are The Borg of adult.

Lately I have been going thru old freesites, roughly 3 a day, removing linklists that are dead or tubes in the recip table, changing a couple links and what not. All these freesites rotate thru my niche hub network and I have noticed in updating them I am seeing a bit more search traffic to my hubs.
