First Hump Day For The Month (Oct-2-2013) ...
A fine morning to each and every one of you!
![]() I was thinking about this U.S. shutdown thing and I had a question which I will Google. Most governments when they can't agree on money issues have a mechanism for new elections. Is America the only major government that instead grinds to halt when the members can't agree to an a budget? Inquiring minds want to know. [Answer: Norway and Switzerland appear to be the only western countries like the U.S. All other countries with fixed election dates have some way to trigger a new election when an impasse occurs.] One client that had her site hacked wants to re-do it over so that's what I will be doing today since she needs it done before next Monday. Also, I decided I want an amateur radio (ham) license a while back so my weekly class for that is tonight. So have a great day! ![]() Last edited by ArtWilliams; 2013-10-02 at 08:17 AM.. |

Art, as far as I know mid term elections aren't until next year although at this point I think electrocutions would be more appropriate.
When I still hadn’t received my auto tags yesterday I went over to BofA to find out if my online bill payment had ever been cashed and found out that it had been sent to New Jersey DMV instead of the Florida DMV. Seems they have no way of checking but after sitting in BofA's lobby for two hours on the phone with their online bill payment department they finally agreed to put the money back into my account and then I drove over to a tag agency and, after sitting for another hour, got my tags renewed. Then I went by the restaurant to meet with the newest managers of the place, two gay guys and one sex change, who are now making it gay pretty much all days and was given a ton of work, $$$$$. Spent what was left of yesterday doing work for the restaurant and will be spending all day today working on restaurant stuff. Hoping by tomorrow to be able to start trying to get caught up in my adult work, but right now this is paying more. But right now I'm laying in bed doing the leg elevated above my heart with my foot on a heating pad which seems to really help as long as I stay this way. |

![]() Art - I think that we could "recall" all of them, but I think that process requires gathering a shitload of signatures & then I think we'd have some sort of emergency election. You'd have to do that in EACH State & by the time it was organized & put into motion, it'd probably be time for their normal elections....I think

![]() Good morning world
![]() No shutdown here. It'd sure be nice if we could all afford to shut down and still get paid, like our duly elected representatives, who continue to receive at least $174,000 per year even when they shut down the government and cause upwards of 800,000 other people to stop receiving their own paychecks. Nice work if you can get it. They get to say "fuck you" to the people they were elected to represent while the same people have to pay them over $250,000 per day in combined salaries during this shutdown (just like we the people do every other day, when they're also not working on our behalf either). Unfortunately, no matter how badly they fuck up, they never fuck up quite badly enough to cause the people to rise up and toss them all out on their asses. Citizens really need to take back the running of the country. We've let these hand puppets of the lobbyists butt fuck us for way too long. We need to kick all of them out of their cushy jobs that they view as a career, then have their positions filled like jury duty. Anyone could get a card in the mail, telling you when you have to show up to be a congressman and you only have to do the job for some reasonable short period of time, a year or even less. You'd get reasonable compensation for your time, perhaps equal to what we're paying now, but when your time is up you're done and you go home. We need to stop allowing career politicians* to hold those positions. I read something that Relentless posted at the zoo that really does describes these cock holsters very well: "It's like watching a pack of retards using sparklers battling against a pack of idiots using airhorns....Noise, flash, no substance and all kinds of stupidity." And I forget who said this a while ago, but choosing to be a democrat versus being a republican is like choosing which color glove you want on the fist shoved up your ass. Okay... time to get back to work. -- * I don't feel the same about career diplomats, which does need to be a more qualified pool of talent. Requirements like more education, language skills, cultural studies, time living abroad, etc.
