MAC Video programs... eep!

Hey-
I'm having trouble converting and slicing video files for a new CHAMPS site I worked on and am promoting, using freesites and MGP.

I got a video from ounique in quicktime format. I want to be able to save it as an .mpeg and then slice it up (with a program I already have - thanks cleo!) and use for posting.

However, quicktime has changed (ugh!) and now only saves using the new .mp4 mpeg format or whatever, which doesnt work for most people. Does anyone know where I can convert a simple .mov file to .mpeg?

it should be simple, but ive been searching around download.com and tucows and cant find anything that works

MAC= Media Access Control. This is the unique ID number that all networking cards have.

Mac= A computer sold by Apple.

You need to compress the movies into MPG-1 format which as you found out is no longer included as an export option in Quicktime.

Then to make MPGs and other web formats

A much cheaper encoder is ffmpegX ($15)

A free encoder

You do get what you pay for and Cleaner is by far the best but also the most expensive.
