My Stats

Hi Everyone,

For reasons I won't bore you with my server has been temporarily shut down, hopefully not for too long.... anyway seeing as I now have lots of time on my hands I decided to analyse my stats going back to Jan 2003.

This is traffic from a combination of sites, an Adult Blog, a Thumb TGP and a Link List.

I'm only showing my top 30 sponsors and the ratio of sales to uniques.

Sorry they are not sorted by ratio, the list originally was sorted by revenue so you can also the order they fall in terms of revenue from best to worst.

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to include my ref ids so I left them out....

Too bad some of those are 1st page clicks & some are 2nd page clicks, so putting them in the same list make the results tainted

Hi GG,

Can you explain ? Those are not clicks they are sales per unique.

Unless you mean the inclusion of Alt.com and AFF, although I still don't see how that makes the results tainted.

I'm not claiming my traffic is definitive, I simply took the cue from seeing other webmasters posting their stats and had time on my hands so decided to do mine. As I said mine are based on 18 months of data (using StatsRemote).

These things are simply for reference, if you take Jay's, Hoe's and mine and compare them the interesting thing is how much variance there is in conversion ratios for the same sponsor. Different methods of promotion, different traffic.... the key thing is it gives people a realistic expectation of how well a particular sponsor converts.

Re-reading this it looks like I'm being defensive :-) Thats the problem with non face to face discussions.

Some programs only count 1st page clicks, some programs only count 2nd page clicks, some programs give you both numbers.

You don't put in there if you used the 1st or 2nd page clicks for any of them, so the stats are, and this may sound harsh, useless

Example: Nasty Dollars counts 1st page hits only (as far as I know), Extreme Paychecks counts 2nd page hits only & Flash Cash counts both - so you can't compare the 1st 2 at all & you'd need to tell us what totals you used for Flash Cash before we compared them to anyone.

Plus, throwing those $1 email programs into the mix isn't that great of an idea either. Everyone knows they convert better then normal PPS or RevShare programs, but you only get $1.

Hope I wasn't too harsh, but I've been dpoing my stats for a long time & I know the pitfalls - LOL

Now I understand what you mean.

I was only thinking in terms of the conversion irrespective of whether it was a first or second page hit that generated it. Given that (aside from the email program) they are signups with a $20-$40 payout (or revshare where applicable) I didnt even think about the 1st/2nd page issue.

Aside from which despite 2 years of doing this fulltime, I still consider myself a newbie, still learning (clearly I hear you say!!) and certainly no expert in these things.

Thanks for your advice GG, I'll try and make them more useful next time.
