Wow Microsoft's own site is telling you not to use IE

The site is owned by Microcrap themselves’s and is suggesting that you use FireFox or anything but IE.

Guess hell is getting a bit chilly these days.

Is it really more difficult to install spyware on Firefox? Is it not just the fact of 95% is using Explorer that makes it the hackers favorite target?

The problem with IE and exploits is that IE is embedded into the window's OS. If an exploit is found with a program like Firefly...the worst someone can do is affect your use of the progam. When an exploit is used in IE...it opens up the ability to make direct modifications to windows....that is where the severity lies.

The big problem with these exploits is most AV software won't help (unless you're using something that locks down some of IE's more vulnerable areas).

Unfortunately with so many problems with IE....many webmasters have a tendancy to *only* check coding in IE so websites don't always work properly with other browsers.

Only Windows IE supports DirectX. It is DirectX that is the biggest problem.

I don't use a PC so no problems here.

MS is an easy target....their software always seems to be riddled with security issues....Personally I think MS(N) should change it's logo from a butterfly to a bullseye

[EDIT] It seems I'm having problems with my grammar today

Hackers love hacking. I only need to look at my server stats to see them at work. Good thing that my server is not a Windows box.

Most computers in the world run some flavor of *nix not Windows yet we don't see these problems with anything but Windows.

In other news the person responsible for writing this article is now seeking new employment.

I installed it in Angel's PC last night and it is a very nice browser. I did have to run the Windows Media player installer again to get it to play mpg files but other then that it was an easy install.

I've used mozilla ever since they got their speed up to par with IE. I've never really had much problems viewing any site, although I know that what I see isn't always exactly what I would see in IE, but I've got IE's security set so high that it's a pain to browse with it anymore.

I think one of the smartest things they added to the new version of firefox is the ability to view the current page in IE from the right-click menu. Best of both works IMHO!
