Ask me anything about prodicing porn pictures.

Ask me anything about producing porn pictures.

Not done this for a while and it eases my conscience for my spamming ways if I give something back.

So ask me anything you like about shooting porn pictures and I will do my best to answer them.

Licence agreements

If for example I wanna buy some pics of a specific girl. I don't wanna trawl a content site to find the perfect girl, only to find that I cannot use the pics for a custom tour because of the licence agreement.

This has never been very clear to me.

[edit] In other words, not using pics for galleries, but just for custom tours. [/edit]

Do you get to have sex with the models?

Kidding...

Actually I have a couple questions. Where do you find them? Ads in the paper? Referrers mostly? And are you not concerned about the community coming down on you like they did Greg for example?

Ask the producer first before you trawl the site. If you want stuff for the tour the same level/style/niche of content should be inside the site. So it's important a producer lets you use his pictures on a tour.

You should be buying content from a producer that has the right quality of model and image for promotion.

Yes, when I was single I would have sex with at least a girl a week.

Being shot by a professional who has worked for Penthouse, Playboy and Hustler, plus lots of other mainstream mags can be a very erotic experience for a girl. Especially if you tell her she is the hottest thing you have seen for years.

No force, no coersion or persuading is needed, just charm and the rest is nature. There is also the "Negative Sale" "I don't care how hot you get, wait until you are getting home. Making love to the models is not part of my job" Works quite well.

You need a look in the girls eyes that sex is not the last thing she was thinking about to shoot a good porn picture. She needs to look happy, relaxed, willing and horny. This is sometimes why girls shoot better solo girl porn than guys.

The approach of "Never touch the models" is a crock of shit. Just never touch the ones that do not want touching and if she has a "Negative barrier" attitude think long and hard about whther you need her that much.

When buying a porn set, never think if you would fuck her, think "Would she fuck me?" Because that is what the surfer is dreaming.

I shoot in the Czech Republic, slightly more adult there about sex. Plus the girls are ten times better than US ones, well maybe only five times.

We advertise in the local papers, on the trams and buses, even tried the local radio station, it did not work.

Also girls are your best bet on bringing up other girls to model, over the years this has always been my best supply of girls. Also agents but they tend to be useless.

Other photographers are good, we share girls. A girl shot by one shooter can be shot by many if they have different styles.

Thanks Paul

But I am building a tour with no content. I know this sounds strange, but that's what the basic brief is.

When I was 20, I was looking for a 47 year old woman.

How much time do you schedule to shoot 1 solo girl for maybe 3 shoots? Time for each shoot? Time for changing clothes and moving lights?

What percentages of photos do you take that just aren't used. I imagine that if I wanted 100 photos I'd prolly have to shoot 150+.

The answers to these questions depend on what you are shooting. An Internet set can be done in 20 to 40 minutes, a magazine set in 30 mins to 8 hours. An Internet set needs 60 pictures absolute minimum, but I think some of the guys who think it should be 120+ are just paddinfg out their sites with bulk.

It depends what you are shooting.

What you have to remember is porn is not a science, you do not program a human show certain emotions so another human can feel certain emotions. If you buy content with your brain do not expect to get it right. Buy it with your dick and you have a better chance of success.

Hi Paul - do you use a digital camera, or film? I was shooting pix for newspapers a couple years back in the UK, and everyone was moving over to Digial cameras, the Nikon D1 or the Cannon were the standard tools for the job, just wondering if you content guys were going down the same route, or still prefering to shoot on film.

It depends where the pictures are destined for. If it's for magazines it's got to be slide film.

Printers have invested a lot of money in drum scanners and hired people to use them, it's a skilled job, they are charging the magazine for the scans. The colour on the digital image is only as good as the screen you view it through and unless you are very very skilled getting "depth" on a digitla image is an art.

The printers are not about to give up this investment and have the added problem of colour balancing an image because an editors screen was out of balance. Printers tend to be 100s of miles away from publishing houses.

Would love to shoot nothing but digital our film costs more than the models. But it aint going to happen for magazines.

For the Internet have the Nikon D1X and D100. Good cameras and IMHO better colour than the Canon. We use Canon for film.

I knew doublep would ask the camera question.

I was stood next to a press guy last week who had a pretty nice looking digital camera which looked like an SLR with an LCD display on the back.

It crossed my mind about grabbing it off him, but I figured it might get dropped in the struggle. |skull| Joking btw

No worries I can take it.

Thanks Paul! I guess if you are shooting for mags who require top quality images shot on 35mm, then chrome film is going to be around for a while, although it is getting rather expensive, as you say - I knew a few snappers back home who did shoot digital for mags, mostly advertising though, cars, and interiors, that sort of thing, but they were using medium and large format cameras.

Just about all press photographers have gone digital now, although the images are generally printed on poorer quality paper than mags, so it doesn't really matter weather they were shot on digi or film - the big advantage over film is you can get pictures back to the sub editor faster for deadline.

The Nikon and the Cannon are both great cameras for sure - most of the sports snappers I knew preferred the Cannon, because the auto focus on the bigger lenses was faster than the Nikon's - and they are around 20% cheaper than the Nikon lenses.

Urb - you read my mind mate - was going to ask Paul if he ever gets a boner while shooting hot chicks, but I thought I would leave it for someone else
